The use of industrial wind turbines in Russia is also gaining momentum. So in 2009, the total installed capacity of wind power plants was 18 MW. The largest wind power stations of Russi aare located in the Crimea. These include: Donuzlavskaya WPP (total capacity 18.7 MW), Ostaninskaya WPP (“Vodenergoremnaladka”) (26 MW), Tarkhankutskaya WPP (15.9 MW) and East-Crimean WPP. In total, they have 522 wind turbines with a capacity of 59 MW. In Russia, there are other regions in which wind power is used, for example: in Chukotka, the Kaliningrad region, the Republic of Bashkortostan, in the Republic of Kalmykia, the Republic of Komi. Investing in the wind power industry is not only anefficient and fast-paying project, but also one of the safest. Promising areas for wind turbines and wind power in Russia: According to a number of Russian experts, the projected installed capacity of the Russian energy complex in the future for 2030 will be 15 GW in the field of wind energy. Moreover, the most promising in terms of the development of this type of energy will be the Volgograd Region and the Krasnodar Territory, the Republic of Karelia, the Murmansk, Kaliningrad, Omsk, Novosibirsk Regions, as well as the Khabarovsk and Kamchatka Territories. Unlike most developed countries, centralized energy supply systems cover only about a third of the territory of the Russian Federation. In 70% of the territory with population of about 20 million people, the settlements are supplied mostly with the help of autonomous power plants. In most cases at the expense of expensive imported liquid fuel or at the expense of the region’s own energy potential (coal, peat, etc.). This feature contributes to the competitiveness of the wind energy industry. According to a number of specialists, the creation in Russia of large-scale domestic wind energy industry is economically efficient for the state, business and the population.

The only necessary resource for using the energy produced by the Wind Power Plant (WPP) is wind.
