The development of wind energy in Ukraine is growing rapidly
The use of wind energy in the world is growing at a record pace, and, according to the EU program, until 2020, the share of electricity produced from renewable sources should be at least 20%. As for Ukraine, on October 1, 2014, the Cabinet of Ministers also approved the National Action Plan for the Development of Renewable Energy until 2020. The document, among other things, suggests that in five years renewable energy sources in Ukraine should generate no less than 11% of electricity. So, for example, in October 2015, the total installed capacity of wind generators reached 509 MW. And by 2020 Ukraine intends to increase this figure to 2.3 GW.Over the past 2015 in Ukraine a total of 16.6 MW of wind-generating capacity was put into operation. As a result of this period, wind power plants in the mainland produced 1.125 million kWh of electricity. Thus, the share of the wind power generated is 0.73% of the total annual electricity generation in Ukraine, or 0.8% of all power plants in the mainland, according to a press release from the Ukrainian Wind Energy Association (UWEA).It should be noted that the national plan for the development of the United Energy System (IPS) of Ukraine for 2016-2025. Provides investments in the energy sector of about 279.8 billion UAH. for this period. This was reported in the presentation of the draft ECO development plan drawn up by NEC Ukrenergo. In accordance with the submitted plan, 158.5 billion UAH. (56.6%) will be directed to the development of renewable energy sources, 39.8 billion UAH. (14.2%) - for nuclear power plants, 33.9 billion UAH. (12.1%) - for thermal power, 27.5 billion UAH. (9.8%) - for the development of backbone electric grids.Additional information:
